About the author
Carol Quinn has more than 20 years’
experience in interviewing and hiring. She has conducted thousands
of interviews and has a special interest in understanding what
makes people achieve. She is president of Hire Authority, Inc.,
a Florida-based company that teaches corporations why hiring based
on skill level alone is insufficient and that possessing the right
skills to do a job does not necessarily mean candidates will stretch
themselves to reach challenging goals or hurdle tough obstacles.
Clients include small and medium-sized companies as well as BP,
the second-largest energy company in the world, which nominated
Hire Authority in 2004 for its global Helios Award in Innovation
for delivering breakthrough solutions. Quinn’s cutting-edge interviewing
and employee selection methodology is taught in 10 countries in
English and Spanish. She is the author of two books, Don’t
